Kota Inten Mural, Boompjeskade Rotterdam

 I AM delighted to have had the opportunity to create this mural painting on behalf of Gemeente Rotterdam as part of the Moluccan project Kota Inten Festival subsidized through the program ‘The Colonial and Slavery History and the City Today.’ The mural serves as a means to raise awareness about the colonial and slavery history that Rotterdam shares with the Moluccas.

I am grateful for the chance to contribute to the commemoration and education surrounding these important historical aspects, and I hope this artwork sparks meaningful conversations and reflection in our community. It’s crucial to acknowledge and understand our shared past to build a more inclusive and equitable future. Thank you to the municipality and all involved for supporting this project.
